You may have noticed I did not talk about the current situation and I am just trying to stay positive about the whole thing, As most of you know, I am not one to travel all over the place and pretty much stay at home so that is not bothering me in the least. I wish everyone stay safe and hopefully we will all get through this better individuals.
Hello everyone. March was a very busy month. The furkids are very happy to be sheared. I moved the baby in with the other boys and I think everyone is happy now. We had a small storm last week and the wind took the top of one of my trees in the back pasture right off. Had it cut down today. Trees are a never ending battle here. It was also time to go and get a hay order and on the way back the cargo trailer had a tire blow and I had to have it towed to a tire repair shop and then had to buy two new tires. Many many thanks to my good friend, Sonny, that drives my trailer to get my hay for me as I sure tied up his whole day yesterday. He and his wife, Betty Rae, are jus the best friends ever. My garden is looking good as I planted cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers and a few gourds. I just ca in from watering it and something decided to have three plants of gourd leaves for dinner. I now have that bed of plants behind fencing as well.

Wow it is so hard for me to believe that another month has come and gone. In addition a leap year has passed. I have been busy working on the farm and creating gourd art. March will be a busy month for me, I am attending the Spring Fling in Ocala, Florida and hope to meet new people who are interested in fiber work. I am attending a class at the Florida Tropical Weavers Conference to get better at some of the thing I already do. Of course, shearing will be March 27th so getting ready for that as well. It has been cool her so the furkids have not minded the weather yet. I also have a group of ladies from the GFWC of Palatka coming to visit the farm this month before the furkids are sheared. So busy, busy, busy. Remember if you want to come and visit, just contact me to make a reservation.
I am going to try hard to get some of my new gourd art on the website. I have been lax in that aspect of my website. A new adventure I have started is that I bred my Boston Terrier, Josette, and hopefully I will have babies in a couple of months. This is exciting. She is such a sweet dog. Of course, my pug, Barnabus, has strongly stated that all puppies are to leave the home. LOL If you are interested in a puppy, please contact me to be put on a waiting list I will be busy building gates in my one barn prior to shearing and also need to fiber from last year ready to send to the mill. Where does the time go. Well it is a new month and I am already getting better about posting on my blog. Maybe with time I will actually continue to post. I have been busy working outside and getting some tree work completed (seems like I do this every month). Been thinking about getting my seeds started for the garden and even trying to grow some gourds this year. Shearing will be next month so have to think about getting prepared for that event and also getting some of last years fleece sent to the mill for processing. Hope to eventually do all the processing myself but just don't seem to be able to find the time. Sure don't know how I worked too. LOL.
Have a show coming up in April in Palm Coast so trying to get some things completed for that event and also have been having people contact me to come to the farm for a visit to see these amazing critters. So it is January 2nd. I can not believe where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday it was summer. I had a great Christmas and New Year with friends. The weather has not been bad (I don't like the cold). Before I know it, it will be time to shear the alpacas again. I have completed a couple of gourds over the recently and will post to the store soon. I am working on planning some classes at the farm for botanical printed scarfs. I also will be doing a Chaulk Couture class with the alpacas once the weather settles down. Still working on organizing my house seems like there is always something to organize so I can find things. Sure hope I am not the only one that has these issues. LOL. Of course I just get things organized and all put away and then I start a project and things are all over the place again. I will be doing a show in Palm Coast in April but the rest of my shows are in the fall. Should you find you need a one of a kind gift please feel free to contact me to come and see my shop. My hope this year is to be better about updating my blog. Anytime you want to visit the farm and see the alpacas just contact me to set up an appointment for a farm visit.
Wow it is October 2019 already. I finally retired in July 2019 and have been so busy that I have no idea how I found the time to work. I love being home with my animals and creating art. It case you haven't noticed, I removed my art work from my website as I find that during shows I sell the item and then it gets purchased on the website. As I make One of a Kinds, that makes it difficult. But I am creating daily and hope you visit me at one of my upcoming shows for my art work.
Additionally, I have started as an independent artist with Chaulk Couture and will be holding Chaulkin with the Pacas events. The first event is November 13th at 10am. You will be chaulkin an 8 x 10 canvas with a pick of 5 different transfers. The price is $20 and includes everything. Space is limited so don't wait to register. We will be chaulkin in the pasture with the alpacas weather permitting if weather prevents we will still chaulk in my home. All supplies are included. To register, please pm me. Can't wait to see you and have you enjoy both the alpacas and the fun you will have with chaulkin. Any questions, please get with me. Transfer to chose from: Good Vibes Only, Wake Up and Be Awesome, Family is Everything, Grateful Hearts Gather, Santa Stop Here. Oh my goodness I cannot believe that it is June already. So much going on since my last post. Alpacas have been sheared and fiber has been sent to the mill for processing. I have bred 4 of my girls and all we do now is wait and see if they took. If so good, if not, it was not meant to be. I have had 5 trees removed from my property since the first of the year and several loads of dirt brought in and leveled. More trees to come down and more dirt to come in. I really need to start working on my fiber items for my shows. I have been working on my gourds and have finished a few which I will post here for you to see. I have read 5 books which is very unusual for me to take the time to do that but I was in the mood. I saw the movie "BOOK CLUB" and it is hilarious. You must go see it. Hope everyone is having a great month and please enjoy every minute of your life, as we all know it is very short.
Wow, I can't believe it is February already. Seems like it was just Thanksgiving. It was a rough January for me. I don't like the cold at all so feeding the alpacas at 3:30am in 18 degree weather was not fun for me. I have been working on some new projects and have posted a few new items in the shop so be sure and stop by and see them. I have even brought in some FUN socks from Sock Smith, not alpaca but just fun. The burning up of all the trees that came down during Hurricane Irma is finally done and I am now working on burning up the ones I had taken down just before Hurricane Irma. The process of bringing in fill is also just beginning. The fur kids are loving this weather.
Well it is 2018 and I have decided to really get working on my fashion and art projects. It seems like I can get things going but then what really holds me up is the embellishments and to me that is really what makes the fashion/art come together. I have posted two new gourds in my store and have worked up some fashion items but still need to embellish them. I am excited about 2018 as this is hopefully, my last year to work. I am sooooo looking forward to retirement. Not sure how often I will be posting but am trying to make a real go of this website. I look forward to your comments and questions. Happy 2018 to EVERYONE.
